Start Procedure
The start procedure will be done by using visual codes (flags) and acustic codes. A simply long horn's signal will be tha start of the race and the start of the time records.
Fixed Buoy on Messina's side
A stopped boat with a FLAG will held the position as BUOY as fixed point during the race on the sicilian coast before the start of the race.
Judge Head Boat
A top motorboat will keep the head of the race, driving to the buoy and after driving the head of the group till the finish line.
Safety Boats and assistance crew
Some other boats (depending of the numbers of racers) complete the support & rescue fleet.

The CroceRossa Italiana will help us during the race with special trained rescuers for deep waters. |
The helicopter of V Reparto Volo della Polizia di Stato is available for flight in case of necessary support.

The Polizia di Stato support is essential to keep all in order and to clear the battle's field of intruders. Ready to help us and coordinate rescuer if necessary. |

You will be penalized in cases:* If your start will be over the start line (within 30 meters far) : 30 seconds of penalization;
* if you dont respect the international navigation rules during the race: 1 minute penalization; |
You will be disqualified in cases:
your jersey is wear under the PFD so the numbers are not visible;
* you don't wear your official jersey in water during all the event in the water and during the Prize Cerimony;
* If your start position will be over the start line more than 30 meters far;
* your gear is not rigorously aderent to specifications indicated in the section Instructions;
* your create danger for users/people/public (beach or sea);
* you cannot follow and sign the skipper meetings rules and specifications form;
* your gear can cause danger during the arrival phase (not respecting the safety procedures described during the Skipper Meeting);
* you dont stay in the virtual path described during the skipper meeting;
* you dont pass around and upwind the sicilian Buoy (38°07'34.00"N, 15°31'34.00"E);
* you will not use the Fair Play golden rules during the race, at unquestionable opinion of the Organization Committee.

You will accept to release all rights for free about photos, videos and all kind of print, tv, website or multimedias usage including your person.

Prizes
We introduced a prize money (directly managed by our sponsors) to push the limits of this competition.
The actual recors time is: 34'16" to complete the race.
If one or more windsurf will do better time (34'16"): 500€ will be divided for each recordmen using the table of quotes after defined.
If one or more kiter using race/surf will do better time (34'16"): 500€ will be divided for each recordmen using the table of quotes after defined.
If one or more kiter using twintip will do better time (34'16"): 500€ will be divided for each recordmen using the table of quotes after defined.
If one or more kitegirl will do better time (45'): 150€ will be divided for each girl using the table of quotes after defined.
PARTICULAR RULES:

RECORD RATIFICATION
All records can be confirmed only if there is, AT LEAST, a clear GPS track for the phases of: start, buoy pass and finish!
Is up to you be sure, check and let your tracking system setuped and full working during the race. NO EXCEPTIONS ALLOWED.
If GPS tracks are not available your placement can or not be validated by Organization Commettee after check with judges and pictures (without appeal)
Table of quotes (men windsurfs, men kite race/foil, men kite twintips):
in case:
1 racer beats the record, 500€ for him;
2 racers beat the record, 300€ for first 200€ for second one;
3 racers beat the record (or in case no broken record): 300€ for first, 150€ for second, 50€ for third.
All positions receive the prestigious handmade Trophy for the relative placement.

Table of quotes (female):
in case:
1 kitegirl beats the record, 150€ for her;
2 kitegirls beat the record, 100€ for first, 50€ for second one;
3 kitegirls beat the record (or in case no broken record), 70€ for first, 50€ for 2nd and 30€ for 3th.
All placements will receive the handmade Trophy of the relative position.
The reason of a smaller prize is due to the proportional percent of females present compared to the males.
Minimal rules:
At least 3 competitors have to finish for his Class to be elegible for prize money.
The Handmade TROPHY and the other minor creations for each positions in kite and windsurf!
